Starting in the 2020-2021 school year, Middleton Speech and Debate club is separating. While the clubs have been semi-merged in the past, leadership has ultimately decided that while approaching a new school year with new circumstances, the best course of action would be to once again split the two clubs.
What does this mean for the club?
Speech and Debate will continue as normal (the covid ‘normal’) regarding meetings and tournaments. All the socials (instagram & facebook) will stay together to ensure they’re always active due to the separate run times. However, each club will have its own separate website.
What does this mean for participants?
Since the Speech and Debate seasons take place during separate parts of the year ( Debate, September - January, Forensics, February - April) it is HIGHLY encouraged to join both clubs, the skills your gain from each club play off each other and a majority of the community is the same in both activities. We hope to see you in both speech and debate!
Beginning this year Forensics will also have new rules regarding attendance and speech requirements. To read more about those click here
